Linda S. Swihart Thursday, September 15, 1949 - Thursday, April 6, 2017

Linda S. Swihart, age 67, died Thursday after a two year battle with cancer. Born in Massillon, she had lived in the Canton area most of her life. Linda was a 1967 graduate of Fairless High School, retired from Diebold and was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist. She especially enjoyed wintering in Florida. Survived by her husband of 47 years, Patrick R. Swihart, daughters, Melissa Stevenson and Mary E. Swihart both of Canton, grandchildren, Julian Stevenson and Kaleel M. George, mother, Rose McClead of Beach City, sister, Betty (Dennis) Buehrle of Massillon and brother, Carl McClead of Beach City. Preceded in death by her father, Maurice L. McClead. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with the Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.

I'm so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I knew her from Fairless High School. She was a fun loving person. May God give all of you peace, comfort and strength as you deal with your loss. My sympathy to the entire family.

Dearest Mr Swihart,  I am so very saddened to hear of the passing of Linda. Her strength and endurance was a true sign of her faith, coupled with you as her wonderful caregiver.  Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.                                  


I'm so sorry for loss. I'll always remember Linda as a shy, sweet friend growing up together in Beach City.

So sad to Learn of Linda's passing. I remember her from high school and we graduated together.
